It is the archaeological territory of an ancient city Tayrona located in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, whose foundation is attributed to 800 A.D., many years before Machu Picchu.
The Tayrona paradise consists of a series of terraces excavated on the mountainside, made up of a network of tile roads and small circular squares. Access to the Lost City is made ascending about 1,200 stone steps across the region’s vast jungle.
If you like adventure and feel in physical conditions optimal for hikes of up to 6 hours a day, you will enjoy to the maximum what this adventure has for you.

Day 1
Santa Marta – La Aguacatera – El Mamey – Camp 1
- Departure from Santa Marta at 7:30 a.m. (approx), 1 hour of travel by 4-4 vehicle, to the office of Ecosierra (La Aguacatera)
- Final destination in vehicle: The Mamey at 11:30 a.m. (1 hour approx).
- Lunch in the village.
- Walk for four hours to the first camp.
- Night in hammocks or beds, depending on availability.
- Dinner at the camp.
Day 2
Camp 1 – Mutanyi – Camp 3
- Departure from camp 1 around 6:00 a.m.
- Walk for 2:30 p.m. to the Mutanyi indigenous people.
- Walk for an hour to Camp 2.
- Lunch.
- Walk for four hours until you get to paradise (camp 3).
- Night in hammocks or beds, depending on availability.
- Dinner at the camp.
Day 3
Camp 3 – Lost City – Camp 2
- Camp 3 departs around 6:30 a.m.
- Climbing for an hour to Lost City.
- Four hours tour to know the archaeological, ethnological and historical area.
- Return to Camp 2.
- Night in hammocks or beds, depending on availability.
- Dinner at the camp.
Day 4
Camp 2 – Camp 1
- Early departing from camp 2.
- Walk for 3 hours to Camp 1.
- Lunch.
- Free afternoon for rest.
- Dinner.
- Night in camp in beds or hammocks.
Day 5
Camp 1 – El Mamey – Santa Marta
- Departure from camp 1 to El Mamey
- Walk for 4 hours
- Lunch at the Mamey.
- Departure in 4/4 to Santa Marta.
- Does not include toiletries or personal items.
- Does not include mule transportation service.
