Tour De La Maracuyá

The tour of the Maracuyá takes place in the vicinity of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, but specifically in the lower part of the region “Jolonura” in a reserve called Paraíso, there you will be able to enjoy a total connection with nature, share stories and experiences of the ancestors, you can watch birds and howler monkeys endemic to the region, enjoy a beautiful waterfalls and sowing a tree as a testimony of your visit to this place andMother Nature’s offering.

The inhabitants of the area live from the cultivation of fruit trees, so during the excursion you will find cocoa, mango, lemon, mamon, mandarin, banana, banana, among others.

Departure from Santa Marta at las6 .00 a.m. (approx), 30 minutes of travel by vehicle.
Hiking towards a fincadefarm producing maracuyá at 850 meters deof altitude, there you will know the variants of this fruit.
Breakfast in the reserve, rest and enjoy the place.
Visit athe waterfalls, at this point you can bathe and enjoy dethe fall of water a through dea small climb.
Lunch.
Around rededordelas2 p30p.m., iniciastarts the return.
Rest in spa “Pot of the christening,” a place that was formerly used for christening of losindigenous children.

Plan

Day 1 / Santa Marta . Table House

Departure from Santa Marta at 7:00 a.m. (approx), until you reach the sidewalk.
9:30 a.m. (approx), typical breakfast of the region, there we will know a little about the customs, cultural and history of the Vereda.
10:30 a.m. (approx), Tubing in the Buritaca River, there you can enjoy for about 2 hours, the fast and quiet areas offered by the river, in addition to the fauna and flora that abounds in this magical place.
12:30 p.m. (approx), visit the indigenous people Kogui, where you can enjoy a cultural exchange from the hand of the highest indigenous authority of the village.
1:30 p.m. (approx), horseback ride or return walk to the sidewalk Casa de Tabla, where you will have a typical lunch from the region.
Afternoon of bath in the Buritaca River until 5:30 p.m. and rest in accommodation

Day 2 / House Table . Quebrada del Sol . Santa Marta

7:00 a.m. Breakfast in the Accommodation
8:30 a.m. Horseback riding or hiking (according to the Mulkwakungui village) for 2 hours, there you can know their culture and customs of this indigenous tribe as well as interact with its inhabitants.
12:00 m. Lunch at the Vereda Quebrada del Sol
01:30 p.m. You will know the process of the Cocoa from the plant to the cup.
03:00 p.m. Return to Santa Marta

I just got back from my tour. If I do the tour again, I will do it with this company. Everything is coordinated from beginning to end. The food is excellent. Amazing tour with ecosierra! We had the guide Oscar, translator Max and Chef Maria for the group of just 3 people. They did all do a very good job to make our tour enjoyable and interesting from start to finish! Booking with ecosierra had the advantage of a smaller group of 3 compared to other groups of 10-15. Because of this we could walk in the same tempo away from the other groups and people and enjoy the hole trek for ourselves. With ecosierra we also support the local community and it is all for the same price as the other tours! Food and accomadation are the same on all tours so a would definitely choose/recommend ecosierra above the other companies!!

Amazing tour! Pretty tough but totally worth it. Oscar and Camilo were great❤️‍🔥 they provided us with a lot of information and took us to spots that other tours didn’t go to🤫 felt very privileged. Highly recommend it!

We had a really great tour with Ecosierra. Our tour guide Jorge and translator Nico were very professional, fun, helpful and they both knew a lot about the nature, the tribes and about the history of the places we visited. Our small group, nice food, personal attention, and relaxed and fun attitude of our guides made it into a very fun (although super exhausting) experience. We highly recommend Ecosierra for your Cuidad Perdida hike!
